How to SpeedUp MyPC is a general query that every PC user has these days. There can be a large number of reasons, such as when a computer is new there are no issues of errors or clashes but the older it gets, the slower it performs. Sometimes, we store so much on our computers like audio and video files, pictures etc. and when we download this kind of stuffs from free online websites then the situation really gets worst. However, a few simple corrective steps can definitely bring back the speedy new computer feel.

The first step in this corrective surgery is to go to the Control panel and select the Add/ Remove programs. Here, the user will be able to see the currently installed programs, retaining the needed ones and deleting the ones that are not needed can lighter the load in your hard drive and can magically improve the speed of your PC.

Defragmenting the system is a highly recommended procedure to increase the speed of the computer. The user needs to go to My computer and click on Local Disk and then click on Tools and start fragmenting from there.

It is always profitable to invest on a RAM that is bigger because when the RAM capacity is low many programs cannot be run at the same time especially heavy digital media files. A corrupted Registry has time and again been a cause for the sluggishness of a computer. Therefore, scanning the Registry frequently with Registry cleaning software can help solve this issue (but make sure you use the genuine ones from trusted sources).

Cleaning the desktop which is cluttered with files is another effective way of increasing the speed of the PC without spending money. If the desktop is cluttered with files and application shortcuts, Windows take more time to load. Another signal that the computer gives to notify the user is that the hard drive lights keep flashing.

Malware is another common cause that slows down a computer. There are possibilities of a couple of infections hiding somewhere if a user finds his computer slowing down. Users should take care to have safe browsing habits and to regularly update the antivirus software. On the event of the computer not responding to all these measures, it is better to avail the services of a professional.

You may check the status of your firewall in case you feel if it’s resisting you from a fast and speedy internet connection and configure your firewall setting manually so that it will be a safer way either ways.

Uninstall unused programs from your PC-: Though this point counts in slow PC issue but it has equal relation with slow internet browsing speed.

Perform a System Restore if needed- If you are experiencing slow PC or slow browsing issue recently and it was fine before I would suggest you go straightway to perform System Restore so that any changes made to the PC can be reverted and system will come in the previous state where it was working well.

Test your Internet connection with any reliable speed tester website-: Test your Internet connection with the help of any good speed testing website because it is possible that your browser or there is no slow PC issue in your computer but it is the speed from your ISP end that is not high.

Change your existing browser in case it does freeze or does not work-: Changing browser is also one of the options if slow Internet persists. Personally I would suggest for Google’s new browser Google Chrome; it is faster than any other browser currently available in the market.

Remove temporary Internet files in a regular interval-: Temporary Internet files not only can cause slow browsing issue but it may also create slow PC issue as we. Removing them is advisable after a certain interval.

Contact your ISP if any of the above steps don’t work-: In case there is a cap (a sort of restriction from your ISP’s end) has been put from your ISP’s end it may also reduce your Internet connection speed and slow PC or slow connection issue can be occurred. Speedup Your Slow Computer

../wp-content/uploads/26_20_orig.jpg

Article by Max PC

Is your PC running slow? Does it take forever to start up or shut down you computer? Does it freeze all the time and you keep getting the blue screen of death error? If this is the case, then you need to fix your slow computer and improve its performance by following these 5 tips:

Free Up Valuable RAM: First check the RAM by right-clicking on the “My Computer” -”Properties” and then “General.” The information about RAM is listed at the bottom. RAM means Random Access Memory and is the temporary storage memory of your computer. Not having enough RAM might slow down the system’s performance and make it unable to process all the tasks at hand. Delete any unused programs from your PC and empty your computer’s recycle bin to free up some RAM. To do that right-click on your recycle bin on the desktop, click “Empty Recycle Bin” and then “Yes”.

Defragment Your Computer: Over time, more and more files in your system become fragmented. If a file is fragmented, it takes longer for your pc to read it and the overall performance is reduced. To defragment your disk Open My Computer, click Local Disk- Properties- Tools and then click Defragment Now. Choose the first hard disk, and click Defragment. Disk Defragmenter can take a few minutes or several hours, if the problem is more serious.

Remove unnecessary programs: Many of the programs inside your hard drive have components that run all the time, slowing down your system’s performance. For example, iTunes has components that run invisibly in the background, whether you’re using the program or not. To remove any programs that you no longer use go to Control Panel – “Add or Remove Programs” and select the ones that you want to get rid of.

Protect your pc against spyware and viruses: Spyware collects personal information without asking you for permission. In addition it causes slow performance. The majority of computers are infected with viruses and spyware, which can decrease speed considerably. Install an antivirus program and an anti-spyware program to protect you against these threats.

Perform a Windows Registry clean up: 9 times out of 10 the cause for a slow pc will be a corrupted registry. Every time you install or uninstall some software, remove and add hardware, or change your pc’s settings the registry becomes fragmented with corrupted, invalid and many times harmful files. To fix this problem you will need to download a registry cleaner and run a scan. This tool will find all the invalid entries and delete them.

PC Speedup Tips – Two Proven Ways

../wp-content/uploads/18_20_orig.gif

Article by Jason Z Bell

No one wants to be stuck with a PC running slow. There are so many things that people have to attend to day-in and day-out that an additional 15-30 minutes for computer loading is simply too much time to be wasted. Having said that, the only solution is to take certain steps to help speed up your system. And in case you didn’t know, the best place to start with that mission is with your hardware and your operating system.

Checking Out Your Hardware

There are many reasons why a computer may become sluggish and unresponsive. However, most people jump to the conclusion that they are infected with a virus or some sort of spyware — when in fact, they may just be dealing with overheated hardware.

Your CPU, the brain of the computer, is prone to heating up when used for extended periods of time — and considering the fact that the CPU is typically small, it doesn’t take all that long for it to reach dangerous temperatures. This increased temperature causes the computer to behave erratically, resulting in very slow reaction time. You should also note that the more heat the CPU generates, the slower the computer will likely respond. To nip this problem in the butt, follow these 3 simple PC speedup tips.

1) Clean your fans of dust regularly. When dust collects on or around the fans, it makes cooling the inside of the computer much more difficult.

2) Consider adding 1-2 additional fans. The more fans you have, the less likely your CPU is to overheat. Fans are quite inexpensive, so there is no excuse not to pick up an extra one.

3) Switch to round cables instead of ribbon designed ones. These cables are inexpensive and usually easy to switch out with your current cables. Round cables promote better air flow, allowing your PC to remain cool and operate smoothly.

Checking Out Your Operating System

If you’ve gone through the same old song and dance to get your computer back to a tolerable speed — anti-virus scans, spyware scans, software updates, defragmentation, disk clean-up, ect. — yet still have not seen any type of improvement, it may be time to take a look at your registry.

Registry errors are one of the primary causes of your PC running slow, as they continue to build until the PC’s owner takes the necessary action. These errors can occur at any time, making registry repair an extremely important aspect when trying to keep your system up to speed & in good health. However, you should not try to handle the situation all on your own.

Trying to remove registry errors without detailed knowledge of your operating system or of your normal processes is just foolish, as you could very well remove something that your system greatly needs and further damage your computer. Having said that, your best bet is to get a Windows repair software tool which can perform automatic registry repair on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. This way you’ll keep registry errors to a minimum and you won’t need to worry about different ways of speeding up your system.
